What I love about this historical narrative is that it illustrates how God pursues each of us: the sexually-broken, the wounded, the ashamed, the prideful, the selfish, the disobedient - all of it! Even when we turn from Him, in Christ, he continuously redeems, forgives, and accepts us! Later, Gomer proves to be unfaithful to Hosea, but Hosea, out of covenant love, pursues her and restores their relationship (checkout Hosea 1-3). Paralleling the Old Testament book of Hosea in the Bible, Redeeming Love is a Christian Fiction story based on the prophet’s decision to marry a harlot, Gomer, as he feels this is what God called him to do. Redeeming Love (the book) came out almost 30 years ago, but it has recently been turned into a movie, and you guys, it is one that has forever changed my life! Without giving too much of the storyline away, Redeeming Love revolves around the horrors of Human Trafficking, and the idea of unconditional love.
